Ares Parent Involvement Policy & Compact

The Parent Involvement Policy addresses ways the school will work with parents throughout the school year. We revise this annually, with input from parents and staff. The School-Parent Compact is an agreement of shared responsibility between the school and between the home of each student to ensure the academic success of all students. Our School-Parent Compact can be viewed below.

How will we work together to ensure student success?

Our Classrooms will:

  • Develop a weekly newsletter to keep parents informed.

  • Be accessible to parents via schoology, phone calls, or email.

  • Design lesson plans that cater to all students.

  • Keep parents and students updated on student's progress.

    Send home resources for parents to use to assist their child.

At Home we can:

  • Show interest in student and his/her learning.

  • Read with student every evening.

  • Read classroom newsletter each week to stay informed.

  • Keep in touch with teacher about student's progress.

  • Play educational games with
    student at home.

  • Monitor screen time.

Our Students will:

  • Listen and respect teachers and parents.

  • Give 100% in all classroom assignments and keep trying, even when it's hard.

  • Complete all classroom work and homework.

  • Pay attention in class and at home.

Our Goals for Student

  • According to the 2023 summative assessment, 65% of students will reach proficiency in reading,

  • According to the 2023 summative assessment, 65% of students will reach proficiency in math.

Testing Transparency

Ashford Rumble Elementary students take the West Virginia General Summative Assessment each spring.  Data from this assessment is provided to parents in the fall.  The assessment is for grades 3-5 at the elementary level.  

Ashford Rumble Elementary students also complete i-Ready Diagnostic assessments for Reading and Math.  This assessment is completed at the begginning , middle and end of the year to monitor student growth.
