Policies
Attendance

In order for students to succeed in school, it is imperative that he/she attend school EVERY day. If your child arrives late, please sign him/her in with the school secretary. A tardy slip will be issued which will then be given to the homeroom teacher. If you check your child out before the end of school, please sign the form in the office.
We realize that it is inevitable that children maintain regularly scheduled doctor's appointments. Please note that our two most important subjects (Reading & Mathematics) are taught during the hours of 9:00am-12:00pm. If your child needs to see his/her physician, please try to schedule appointments for late afternoon (after 3:00pm).
Visitors
Please obtain a Visitors’ pass in the office upon your arrival. Parents are invited to serve on committees and to assist as classroom volunteers. For safety reasons, all doors are kept locked. All visitors are required to sign in at the office upon visiting the school; this includes all school premises. We ask that you do not use the walking track while students are present.
Individuals wishing to serve as school volunteers must first be approved by the school principal. These names are then submitted to the Boone County Board of Education for final approval. Under no circumstances will any individual be allowed to volunteer in the school without both principal and Board of Education approval.
Zero Tolerance Policy
We will not allow any student to threaten, intimidate, or injure another student. If this happens, teachers will complete a discipline referral form and immediately escort the student to the office. The parent will then be called to pick up the child. Please refer to the Student Code of Conduct Policy for more information.
