Progress reports were distributed on Friday. Students who return tomorrow with a parent signature or note in their agenda book indicating the progress report was reviewed, will receive an anchor remover.
Due to multiple weather-related school closures this winter, Boone County Schools must make a limited adjustment to our instructional calendar to ensure we meet required instructional time.
As a result, tomorrow (Monday, February 16) now will be an instructional day for students rather than a Professional Learning day for staff.
To continue supporting our educators’ required Faculty Senate time, students will be dismissed two (2) hours early tomorrow. Staff will remain on site following dismissal to participate in Faculty Senate.
We are not making any other calendar changes at this time. If additional adjustments become necessary, however, we will promptly notify families.
We appreciate your flexibility and continued support as we work to balance student learning, staff responsibilities, and weather-related disruptions.
If you have questions, please contact the school office.
We want to inform families that the school received an automated, recorded threat on our voicemail system over the weekend. This was a swatting call received by multiple other schools in the Kanawha Valley area. Law enforcement officers were not able to substantiate the threat, but will remain on campus throughout the day as a precautionary measure. We will continue to maintain a secure presence and monitor visitors throughout the day. Please know that we are always committed to ensuring the safety of our students and staff.
