Testing Transparency
Van Elementary administers the West Virginia General Summative Assessment each Spring.  Data from this assessment is generally reported to students in the Fall. This is given to students grades 3-5.

Van Elementary also administers the I-Ready Diagnostic for Reading and Math to monitor student learning. This is used as our benchmark for the beginning, middle, and end of the year.

Goal #1 ELA Achievement & Progress
By the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the WV GSA Balanced Scorecard Performance Levels for ELA will improve as follows:

  • Academic Achlevement will improve from partially meets standard (yellow 50%-65% to meets standard (blue
    65%-80%).

  • Academic Progress will remain as exceeds standards (green 65% or more).

Goal #2 Math Achievement & Progress
By the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the WV GSA Balanced Scorecard Performance Levels for Math will improve as follows:

  • Academic Achlevement will improve from partially meets standard (yellow 50%-65% to meets standard (blue
    65%-80%).

  • Academic Progress will improve from partially meets standard (yellow 35%-less than 50%) to meets standard (blue

  • 50% to less than 65%).

Goal # 3 Attendance
By the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the WV GSA Balanced Scorecard Performance Level for Attendance will improve as follows:

  • Chronically Absent Rate will improve from does not meet standard (more than 20%) to partially meets standard (more than 10% to 20%).
