Testing Transparency
Van Elementary administers the West Virginia General Summative Assessment each Spring.  Data from this assessment is generally reported to students in the Fall. This is given to students grades 3-5.

Van Elementary also administers the I-Ready Diagnostic for Reading and Math to monitor student learning. This is used as our benchmark for the beginning, middle, and end of the year.

Goal #1 ELA Achievement & Progress
CURRENT REALITY: At the end of the 24-25 school year, 61% of K-5 students scored on grade level as measured by the iReady EOY Reading Diagnostic.

GOAL: By the end of the 2025-2026 school-year, 70% of K-5 students will score on grade level on the iReady EOY Reading Diagnostic.

Goal #2 Math Achievement & Progress
CURRENT REALITY: At the end of the 24-25 school year, 48% of K-5 students scored on grade level as measured by the iReady EOY Math Diagnostic.

GOAL: By the end of the 2025-2026 school-year, 55% of K-5 students will score on grade level on the iReady EOY Math Diagnostic.

CURRENT REALITY: At the end of 2024-2025, 36.96% of PreK-5 students were chronically absent as measured by ZoomWV-e.

GOAL: By the end of the 2025-2026 school year, reduce chronic absenteeism to below 30% as measured by ZoomWV-e.
