This is our January Newsletter. Everyone have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Tomorrow will be our Christmas Extravaganza!
🎅🏼 Students are permitted to wear PJs to school and may bring a small blanket for the movie in the afternoon.
🎅🏼 The morning will be full of games and various Christmas activities.
🎅🏼 We have some high school students coming to assist, but if any parents would like to lead a station, they are welcome to come. (This is not like the Halloween party, as students will be moving throughout the building all morning.)
🎅🏼 There will be no school on Friday, December 19th, and we will see all students back at Ashford on Tuesday, January 6th.
Merry Christmas! 🎄❤️💚

Tomorrow’s shopping trip for grades 3-5 will still occur. Please make every effort to have your child at school by 11:30 A.M. We plan to leave as close to 11:30 as possible! Students will not eat breakfast at school. We will go to Plaza Maya first to eat lunch and then will meet at the Quincy Walmart around 1:15 P.M. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD.
Tomorrow’s Shopping Trip for students in grades PreK-2 will now be on Wednesday, December 17th.
Tomorrow, December 12, 2025, is our 2nd Family Data Event of the year. Families who RSVP’d to this event are welcome to come eat breakfast with their children. We will begin at 8:15 A.M. Parents will go straight to their child’s classroom and will wait to be dismissed to the gym for breakfast. After breakfast, everyone will stay seated for a short presentation. Then, students will show their parents the information in their data folders.
Students in Grades 1, 4 and 5 had greater than 97% average daily attendance this week and may wear PJs to school tomorrow!

These will come home tomorrow 12/9/25. Please fill out and send back with your child by Friday, December 12th.

NON-TRADITIONAL INSTRUCTIONAL DAY 1: Students are to work on Day 1 of their Snow Day packets. They will turn in Day 1’s work upon their return to school. This work will be graded. If anyone has any questions, teachers will be available on Schoology from 11 A.M.-12 P.M. and from 1-2 P.M. to answer them.
We are asking that all students wear blue and gold tomorrow, 12/4, to honor the memory of Ethelyn, the 8 year old child who tragically lost her life in a motor vehicle accident yesterday. 💙💛 The Ashford-Rumble community’s hearts go out to the family and friends of Ethelyn.
Tomorrow, December 3rd and Thursday, December 4th, students in grades K-5 will be taking their Middle of the Year i-Ready Benchmarks. Please try to have your children to school on time these days because we will start right at 9 A.M. Also, discuss with your child the importance of getting a good night's sleep tonight and trying their best on these tests. They will show what our students have learned in math and reading this year and any skills that they are still lacking. It will also show how many students are on their way to meeting their Stretch Growth goals for the school year. We will share test results with parents during our data event on Friday, December 12th. We thank you for all you do with your children at home to ensure a quality education!
Be on the lookout. Due Tuesday, December 9th!

Shopping Trip Update: It has been a long process, but we were able to have Walmart to fill out a vendor packet, and it has been submitted to the BCS Finance Department. We are hopeful that it will be approved soon. Until it is approved, we cannot fully plan our Walmart Shopping Trip. However, we have secured buses and breakfast reservations at 9 A.M. at Shoney's in Quincy. Grades PreK-2 will take their trip on December 15th, and Grades 3-5 will take theirs on December 16th.
Permission slips will come home as soon as we hear back about Walmart as a vendor. The Shoney's trip will occur regardless of Walmart's approval, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that they have all they need to become a BCS vendor.
We know that a lot of parents have to take off work for these trips, so we decided to put the date out even though the Walmart portion is not fully planned. Thank you all for being so patient as we navigate these new processes!

This letter will be going home with students today. Preschool students and any student who is absent will receive one on Monday. Please send these back in ASAP for planning purposes.

A school messenger will come out this evening at 5:00 P.M. about our Halloween festivities tomorrow! It's hard to believe that it's already time for our November newsletter, but here it is!
