Welcome Back BCS Staff

Boone County Schools Staff Gather to Welcome New Superintendent
August 11, 2025 — Madison, WV

Today, all Boone County Schools staff assembled in the Scott High School Gymnasium to meet the district’s new superintendent, Allen Sexton, and hear his vision for the year ahead. The event marked the first official gathering of the 2025–2026 school year and centered on a message of unity, trust, and forward progress.

Superintendent Sexton, who assumed leadership of the district on July 1, addressed the assembled educators, support staff, and administrators with a call for collaboration and shared commitment. Emphasizing the theme of “Building a Culture of Trust and Excellence,” Sexton outlined his expectations for teamwork, accountability, and student-centered decision-making across all schools and departments.

“This is a pivotal moment for Boone County Schools,” Sexton told the crowd. “We have challenges to address, but more importantly, we have the opportunity to move forward—together—with purpose and integrity.”

The welcome event also served as a chance for staff to reconnect before the start of classes, reinforcing the district’s focus on a unified approach to academic improvement, school safety, and community engagement.

Classes for Boone County Schools are set to begin later this week.
