Boone County Schools would like to thank you for wanting to be a volunteer. Volunteers are critical to the success of any organization. Without your time and energy, it would not be possible to accomplish all of our goals. Thank you for being the driving force behind our continued success!

Types of Guests

Visitors - When attending school sponsored events as a spectator or in support of your own child, volunteer training and board approval is not required. 

Supervised Volunteers - When participating in school activities as a helper, organizer or general provider of student supports, volunteer training and board approval is required.

All supervised volunteers must complete training yearly per Boone County Schools Policy 8120 which includes the following Steps:

1. Video on Meghan's Law from the West Virginia Department of Education

2. Boone County Policy Presentation

3. Complete the volunteer training quiz embedded within the policy training.

4. Complete an Application

5. Request a background check

In accordance with West Virginia state policy, all Volunteers must complete a background check, which includes fingerprinting. The designated provider for these background checks is IdentoGO. Volunteers are responsible for covering the cost of the background check, which is currently $30.00
