As we head into Spring Break, I want to take a moment to thank you for the hard work, dedication, and support you show each day across Boone County Schools. Our students continue to grow and succeed because of the strong partnership between our schools, our families, and our community.
I hope this break provides everyone with an opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. Take this time to step away, relax, and be present in the moments that matter most.
When we return, we will begin an important stretch of the school year. Let’s come back ready to finish the year strong, supporting one another and keeping our focus on student success.
Wishing you all a safe, restful, and enjoyable Spring Break!

Safety Update for Families and Community
Boone County Schools is aware that several schools across the Kanawha Valley have received automated, pre-recorded threatening messages left on school voicemail systems. At this time, law enforcement believes these messages to be part of a coordinated “swatting” incident affecting multiple schools and districts.
Boone County law enforcement is actively investigating these calls and, at this time, has not been able to substantiate a credible threat to Boone County Schools.
Out of an abundance of caution, Boone County Schools will continue to maintain a secure posture and closely monitor all visitors and school activities. We remain in close communication with law enforcement and will adjust our response if new information becomes available.
The safety of our students and staff is always our highest priority. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as this situation continues to be monitored.
For Monday, February 2nd, Boone County Schools will operate on a three (3) hour delay. Please listen for bus announcements as some runs may be altered pending road conditions.
For Thursday, January 29th, Boone County Schools will operate under a Non-Traditional Instruction Day. Students do not report but should complete their Day 3 NTID work. Staff report on a three hour delay.
